Its a must for us to stay in tune with the wineries and wine makers in the area.  There seems to be a new place popping up every two or three months.  Then again, we were one of those new faces, just back in November!  On our days off, we try to pop in and meet people and try wines at the tasting rooms we have never visited before.  Today we dropped in at the 290 Wine Castle.  I had not yet heard much about them, and we wanted to learn what they do, so we can tell our guests when they ask.  Monique was our host when we arrived, and it ends up, she is one of the owners.  The do have vines planted on the estate, but these are still very young and not yet producing.  Their flight allows you to pick any 6 wines from their list of 13 for $20.  Their wines are sourced from winemakers around the world.  They do have vines planted on property, but these are young baby plantings that are not producing yet.  There were some interesting wines, and a fantastic view.  I can see some big potential if they really tap into the castle idea and take it a little over the top with decor in this genre!  You can learn more at https://www.290winecastle.com
